Slang: "All Day Dat"
The first time I heard 'all day dat' was just over this past summer in Washington, DC. I was working at DTLR shoe store when one of my co-workers said it. I knew what it meant as soon as she said that because of her context clues and body language. My manager asked her did she want to work another day for more money and she replied, "All day dat", but what she was trying to say was "All day that". 'All day that' basically means 'yes' or 'I agree' in the simplist form. The connection is that by saying 'All day that', one would be willing to do that all day or all the time. Yet of course this is an exaggeration. This is one of my favorite slang terms which a lot of people can account for they have heard me say it plenty of times. I use it because i honestly think it just sounds so much more exciting than a simple 'yes'.
